Guildford (6miles)

Guildford is an attractive sophisticated town on a river surrounded by the Surrey Hills. It has two theatres; The Yvonne Arnaud and the Electric Theatre, a castle (Lewis Caroll lived in a house nearby) a cathedral, a museum and art galleries, an excellent range of shops, restaurants, bistros and cafes, a market, cinema complex, and a large modern leisure centre with swimming pools, ice rink and bowling.

Guildford hosts several festivals and events and is a really enjoyable town to visit.

Dorking (6 miles approx)

Dorking is an interesting Georgian town to visit with many independent shops, a museum, cafes, restaurants, farmers market and its famous antique shops along with a new sports and cinema complex. Denby’s wine estate is well worth a visit too. For younger children, nearby Bockets Farm is really fun.

Train Service (45mins) runs from London Waterloo direct to Horsley Station.
